GOAT
Wide Receiver, Santiago Estrada, catches the ball and scores a touchdown against the Fredericksburg Billies during Homecoming on Friday. Estrada had a very good game against Fredericksburg with 4 catches and 2 touchdowns. “I was feeling like the GOAT (greatest of all time),” said Estrada. The Taylor Ducks beat the Billies 36-14.

National Anthem
Seniors Josiah Torres and Byron Sweet stand at the front of the line for the National Anthem at their football game against Lockhart on Friday, September 7th. When asked about his mindset during the National Anthem, Byron said, “I just take it all in. The environment and the feeling are like no other. It gets my blood pumping and my adrenaline running.”

Senior cornerback Josiah Torres calls the secondary coverage to the defense on Friday, September 7th. He is currently tied for most interceptions on the team. Torres said, “I feel like I’m the vocal leader of the secondary so I make it a priority to make my calls.”

Fire in the Rain
JV football players Brandon Pachicano, Francisco Delagarza, Zach Loehr, and Travis Talley invite you to come to watch them play against Salado. They are getting ready for their home game against Salado on September 9 at the new Taylor stadium. Under the rainy sky, Taylor beat Salado 18-6. ”Get this fire picture of me,” said Pachicano “get one of me and my homies.”

"Our Friendships Forever will Last"
Teachers Mrs. Guthrie, Mrs. Kelly, Mrs. Fischer, Mr. Gray, and Mrs. Martin unite pinkies and sing the Taylor School song at the pep rally on Friday, September 15. "I have sung the school song with many special people. Classmates from kindergarten, my best friends in high school, cheerleaders I cheered with for six years, and colleagues who have become dear friends," said Fischer. " I am living proof that the line 'our friendships forever will last' is one of the many benefits of being a student at Taylor High School."

Heating up
Varsity players Santiago Estrada and Ja’von Carver celebrate after a big defensive stop on Friday giving the Ducks offense momentum against Lockhart. “The change happened after halftime when everybody finally bought into the game.” said Jailen Tealer. “It was the hardest game I’ve played in my life,” said Carver. “We were down by 19 in the 4th and we came back and won.”

Comeback Score

The Ducks scored during the 4th quarter before their 19 point comeback against Lockhart. This was an unusual game where team members played a position that they’ve never played before due to injured players. I'm proud of how we played during the second half,” said Tealer. “We fought our way back in the game by playing focused and hard.”

Reality Check
Taylor cornerback Josiah Torres heads back to the sidelines after a play against Waco Robinson at the brand new Football Stadium on August 31. The ducks battled all game with a final score of 21-41. “I feel like we really learn from this game,” said Torres. “It was a reality check for us.”
